Madeleine Recital British Embassy & Masterclasses
Madeleine Mitchell was honoured to be invited to give a violin recital of British music hosted by her Excellency the British Ambassador of Turkey (pictured) at the British Embassy residence, Ankara. This included music by Elgar, Vaughan Williams, Frank Bridge and Judith Weir and pieces written for Madeleine by Errollyn Wallen, Michael Nyman, Howard Blake and Stuart Jones, whose virtuosic Turkish Gypsy Dance (featured on her NMC album) was a highlight of the evening. The event was attended by distinguisged guests and received wide media cpverage.
Madeleine also gave violin masterclasses at Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Arts with a student concert at the end of the week.

Madeleine Mitchell's International Women's Day concert programme 'A Century of Music by British Women' (1921-2021) with her London Chamber Ensemble at St John's Smith Square, received wide coverage and enthusiastic reviews. Madeleine was featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour weekend highlights, BBC Radio 3 In Tune, Scala Radio and Classic FM. The new piece which Mitchell commissioned from Errollyn Wallen was selected by The Strad magazine as their Premiere of the Month. The concert was reviewed by the Guardian and Arcana.fm
